I teach Adult Advanced and Beginner Ceramics in a well equipped studio in Port Washington, NY. I teach both wheel and hand building to small groups and private one on ones. I also have a home studio where I do my own work that I sell. In my studio I have a Skutt 270 SF 7 cubic ft. kiln, my original 1977 Shimpo wheel,a new Brent Wheel a northstar slab roller and a TON of tools and toys.

I have been working in clay for over three decades. I am dedicated to excellence in craftsmanship and have a passion for my work.
All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?

The week before vacation

Setting things up the week before our vacation is an excersize in working backwards. On Monday, a day early, I got my last order out the door to my wholesale client. I feel like I have bought a small bit of time getting it out early.  I can leave work basically finished and covered for the duration but I have a window of time to get  it to that stage. Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.

The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.

Amazon is also a competitive source for photo light tents for shooting professional quality pictures of your work. They also have the EZ Cube brand favored by several of our members. You might also want to purchase the book Photographing Arts, Crafts and Collectibles . . .

If you are up to creating videos of your work or techniques you might want to invest in a flip video camera

ebay is a great alternative for many tools and the equipment used in the ceramics studio - kilns, wheels, extruders, slab rollers are often listed there both new and used.
