I've been experimenting with glazes that give oil spot, etc effects when layered since I first tried Dalys' Oil spot.    I've been trying to reproduce a combo that gives a leopard spot effect - yours is very nice.

This is a great combo!  Licorice works as a great glaze layer under many, many other glazes.  I had not done this one.  Thanks,  Jeff

The field of Cone 5-6 glazes is developing so fast that it's hard to keep up with, I thought it was some new technique.  I have been a C6 devotee since the early 70's after I read Richard Zakin's first book.   Gas was expensive and the city was imposing more and more regulations on wood firing, I knew Cone 6 glazes was the future. Sorry Denice. It's neither. I call them salt rocks because they are double walled salt dispensers.
The clay is Feeneys White Stoneware (Australia), the two glazes are cone 6, electric kiln.  No salt involved in the firing. My teacher would have my head.

I guess I'm not familiar with this technique, is it like a salt firing or is salt sifted on the wet glaze.  Denice
