Comments:  Metal Marks
Hesselberth leach tested for copper and averaged 5 mg/l which he considered very stable for the amount of copper in the glaze.
Needs a full cone 6 down. Sometimes will pinhole.

Relatively high coefficient of expansion.

I tried Barbara's glaze and found the dipped glaze to be uniform and interesting with movement.  However the lightly glazed half of the same pot shows an apparent "weathered" look. The two pics are different sides of the same pot.

There has been lots of discussion re: this and pete's weathered bronze.  Is this and / or seafoam a safe glaze for food, or must I use a lilner for it ?   thank you all for your input.  cp

STRONTIUM WEATHERED BRONZE 

This is a great weathered looking glaze.  The bronze goes from a clear, bright green to a brownish 

bruised green and is suited to all clay body colors, although it is best on tans. 

60% Nepheline Syenite

20% Strontium Carbonate

1% Lithium Carbonate

10% Ball Clay-Old Mine #4

9% Silica

ADD:

5.0%  Copper Carb

5.0%  Titanium Dioxide

This is a Pete Pinnell’s strontium glaze tweaked by John Hesselberth (see link above) so the stability and durability is fine.  Needles to say, the fired color of both the Seafoam and Weathered Bronze are almost identical but the 

Seafoam glaze really goes on nicer and seems to fire more evenly.

What is the colorant for seafoam as compared to bronze? I have a strong blue with 1% cobalt carb. and 3 % copper carb
