I have always tried to keep non-ceramic commentary off of the cone6pots network, but since many of you are friends, I am breaking my rule for this one bit of news.

Elaine Lewter, my wife of thirty-one years, passed away peacefully early this morning. She was the mother of our two fine sons, Jesse Lewter and Kelly Lewter, and my best friend. Elaine lived with breast cancer for twenty-six years, before it finally took her life. During all those years she maintained a positive outlook, and a love of life that was inspirational to the people who knew her. She laughed a lot, and had a smile that could light up a room. I got to see her smile and hear her laughter nearly every day that we were together.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your words about Elaine are so special; I'm glad you have those wonderful memories of her smile, laughter and her strength and courage. What a wonderful heartful creation you've made for her. All my best to you and your family.

Here is where I tie the story back into cone 6 pottery. This urn came out of the kiln this morning. Her ashes were placed in it, and it was sealed just moments ago. Rest in peace, my love.

I lost my mum to cancer about ten years ago, so I know a little of what you're going through. There are no words to soothe and time only heals so much. Just know you're not alone, I send my love to you and your family.

The many descriptive words you used to describe her, I just know she was a wonderful , wife, mother, and friend.

I know I would have liked her had I known her, by your words. Laughter, and smiles tell a lot about a person.

I know you will miss her forever.  I am so sad for you. Glad you found the heart to share.

Twenty six years. Incredible.  That took a lot of strength.

My best wishes to you and your sons.
