What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
I sold my first dinnerware set that I threw on the wheel in 1966. By 1971 I had made and sold over thirty electric variable-speed potters wheels that my father had designed and patented. My mother taught ceramics and was Chair of the Department of Fine Art at Nebraska Wesleyan University (1974 to 1990). I received my MFA in Ceramics in 1984 at East Texas State University then taught and headed the Art Department at Texas A & M - Commerce 1986-1990. Then I Chaired the Fine Art Department at Muskingum University in New Concord, OH (1992-1998). Since 1998 I have been a full-time potter/sculptor in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. My studio is Paradise Pottery and Gallery. This year, 2016, then is my 50th year of actively making and selling pottery.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
Most of my work in the last twenty years is wood-fired, more is gas-fired recently and I've always fired a bit with electric kilns, mostly for bisque. Until just a few years ago I was content to fire in my larger kilns and I had a studio mate to work with. Now I work alone and the time it takes to fill the larger kilns is impractical to keep up with orders. So I have a newly discovered interest in using my electric kilns, but admittedly my knowledge of electric glazes is limited compared with reduction firing. .

I'm curious. Maybe I have something of value to share, all I can do is try.
Where do you work on your ceramics projects?
