You really inspire me to try single firing. These mugs are GREAT.

Thanks, George.  I have never used a sprayer.  Learning to use one will take some practice.

Spraying interiors is not practical except on open forms like bowls and plates. Spraying inside of tall forms just gets you a lot of glaze right back in your face, and near uncontrollable thickness.

Best to pour in, pour out, and wipe the rim -- all as expeditiously as possible on raw ware.

Those are stunning.  Did you spray the liner, too?

george,

this is still one of my fav's with the layering over nutmeg!

love...but still can't imagine the single firing. Was the previous bowl done that way as well?

Yes, the liner in this case, was nutmeg. It has more character (speckles) over an iron bearing body, than over white clay.

was looking at your two mugs george and was interested whether the liner here was nutmeg,,,,, not sure how to reference a pot

I use white stoneware exclusively for a period of time, and then clean up and use a darker stoneware. I'll be switching back to brown in a week or two, and work with it until I use up my supply of 150 pounds.

great Yin and Yang mugs. this pot was a year old approximately , but i notice on brown clay. Are you able to keep brown and white in the same studio ? Or have you changed ?
