These were done using a pattern printed with a laserjet in B&W. The Black areas act as a resist from the laser ink. It makes an interesting process adding the colors to it- We used underglazes but you can also use slips etc.

Having made multi-color silk-screen prints, with four screens, when I was younger I've always been interested in trying this out sometime using mason stains and glaze base to transfer to clay.

The mason stain ink would have to be flexible enough to bend with the "paper" it's printed on without flaking-off, yet still have a greater attraction to the clay than the paper when the paper is moistened from the back or simply due to the dampness of the clay.

I've seen online businesses which can make custom ceramic decals from your artwork, but of course it's costly.
