Nothing is electroforme
d on this piece. here is a sculpture that has both and wood as well.

Your's wife's weavings are beautiful and the combo with your metal works incredibly well! I really enjoy the challenge of combining my fiber art with clay and it's fun to see how others work with combinations.

I left the edges unglazed for just this reason. Fired it on it's side with the edges down.
I like what you are doing with the fiber art with clay. My wife is a weaver and so we work together on clay and woven wall art and sculptures. als0 with wood and metal. Take a look at my wife's pieces on our RavenTreeStudios.com website. I bet you could come up with some great ideas.

These are great, wonderful combo of metal and clay. How did you manage the firing? (it appears these are glazes on all sides)

Great slab work, your angels an lines are very deliberate and precise and the forged metal work is works well with the clay. I have bought metal holders at garage sales but have only made stands for a set of lamps myself. I took welding in college but didn't really care for it, I may have to give it a second chance. Denice

Oh, cool. I like using bending forks too. I still consider that free hand. I thought you were heating it and setting it into a block with a fixed curve machined into it.

I had to free hand it Tyler. Rough fit the pot to the forged metal and then welded it to the base and used a torch to fit it to the contours of the pot. I used a jig on this one. Two 1/2" pipes welded in parallel with a 3/4" space. I weld the ends of three 12" sections side by side to a piece re bar and heat them all at once and hammer them to shape in the jig. Saves time and gas and they come out pretty uniform.
The pot is also electroformed

I agree with George's comment, you matched the media really well. Did you use a jig for the curves or forge free hand? Good, clean work either way.

Yeah George. Somehow forged iron sort of translates to "antique". So I used a matte glaze and wiped sections to give an "antique " look to the clay. Glad you like it.
