Yeah, it does get some nice fine crystals when cooled slowly.
looks a bit like a green teadust.
Denice I use a porcelain clay to get a brighter back ground.
Well I mixed a larger batch of this glaze and mine came out slightly darker but it's still a great glaze. Denice
LOVE this!
My gerstley borate is about 25 years old, I was a bit of a chemical hoarder for awhile. I am almost out so I will need to change over and see how it affects my glazes.
Troy This is a strange question but how old is your gerstley borate, I bought a 50 lb bag of it about 8 years ago and it was from a different pit than the original gerstley, it's slightly off chemically. Denice
Let's see if any of you can repeat the glaze before we worry too much about what to call it. :)
I was just about to ask Troy what to call it, a teacher in my glaze research class put my name on a glaze that I didn't like. I was part of the raku group, it's called Demuth's Purple Passion, I think the name should be slightly more descriptive like Troy's Flaky Lime Green, what do you want Troy?
