Kathy,
Thanks! I am planning on making more of these as I also very much like this glaze combination. I have 4 in the kiln cooling right now. This could be one of my product line glazes that I have been searching for.
I love the colors and the way the glazes combine on the margins. Also really like the form (hard to get that fluid look handbuilding) and handle on your mug.
The entire mug is sprayed. The teal is a mason stain at 6% in the 20x5 standard base glaze. The yellow is a modifier that I use on nearly all my glazes. I spray it on top, usually forms crystals such as these, depends on the glaze it is on top of though. The blue glaze is a heavy iron glaze that is slow cooled and forms that deep blue black color that you see at the top of the mug, when thin it is the black you see around the teal. My aim is to get the entire mug that blue color and still keep the teal looking like it does. It will take practice as it is hard to do with my current guns. I need to purchase some detail guns. This is going to be a new combination that I plan on making a lot of.
Thanks for the nice comments about my pots.
I love blues and yellow mixed together, did you use some mason stain and a air brush? Denice
