That is the same type of tape I tried but a different brand, I wondered at the time if maybe the pot was too rough at the time.  I'll keep that brand of tape and the smooth surface in mind.  Thanks Denice

The pot has to be bisque fired, otherwise the tape will not stick. The tape I use is called "The Edge". I got it online from http://www.finessepinstriping.com/

Although I don't need to prep the pot first, I try to get the surface as smooth as I can (I sandpaper the pots before firing).

I have tried using a blue pin striping tape that my husband keeps around for painting cars, but it doesn't stay put very well.  Is this the kind you use or do you prep the pot first.   Denice

Yes Denice, I use pinstripe tape. Here is a picture of me glazing one of my new pieces.
