Thank you Troy and Robert. I have done many fish- lots of inspiration here on the coast. I enjoy doing the flat fish best- halibut and sole- I think it's because of the almost comical eyes. Sadly, I have no pics.

Thanks, Denice- yes, stains and washes, some Mayco pan colours, Speedball black UG- brushed and sponged. Lots of scrubbing and sponging. It cracked so I kept it. I kick myself for not taking pics of my work in the past. Thanks for the feedback- Joan

Joan I really like your cod, looks like you just caught it, you have really got the spots and scale effect down. Did you use stains and oxide washes under clear or is it paint and waxes. I have seen video's of wood carvers painting the spots and scales on that were this realistic. Denice

Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.
