What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
I took my first class in March of 2013 with Lee Taylor, a potter who specializes in wood firing. Then I took his next class in May and was caught, hook, line, and sinker. After spending three days assisting him with his wood kiln, I know that route is too labor intensive when I have a full time job in addition to pottery. The local nonprofit art school was open to allowing me access to the pottery studio along with two other classmates. Next thing I know, I am mixing and testing glazes and studying every youtube video on technique. Last fall I was asked to take over the management of the studio.
I am still learning, still studying, still asking questions. I've got a long way to go. Heading to a week-long workshop with Steven Hill June 15th.........then a raku workshop July 15th.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
Life long learner! I am constantly looking for glaze recipes, kiln maintenance videos, and helping to get a pottery program up and running at a non-profit art school.
Over the past 8 years I have been experimenting with both oxidative and reductive firings. I really wish I had the guts to retire from my present job and just take glaze classes. I've been experimenting with clay bodies and glaze recipes hoping to find my niche. In addition with porcelain becoming so expensive to purchase (AND ship!) I've had to look for white bodies which really let me play with glaze combinations.

To expand my horizons in regards to electric kiln firing. I have only been potting for 1 year and have somehow managed to have an entire studio dropped in my lap. I love it, but have a lot to learn!
UPDATE! I've been potting for 10 years, running a studio for 10 years, and still learning lots!
Where do you work on your ceramics projects?
