That is a nice looking bowl dave.......mind sharing how you built it?  I'm guessing textured slabs placed inside a form?  It would look great as well done in porcelian and left white without glaze.

prepare a pot with a burnished/terra sig surface

    Bisque fire to cone 010

pour ferric chloride (x2)   allow to dry

place a crumpled sheet of aluminum foil on a table

    put pot on foil

add sea salt, cupper sulphate, drift wood, copper chore boy, miracle grow, etc).....a little goes a long way......choose 1,2,or all....

Wrap the foil tightly around the pot like a baked potato. Try to keep some of the chemicals/organics 'up' on the pot (not just let them fall around the base)

FIre in a raku kiln to about 900-1100 degrees F ( I place a shard of bisque with a raku clear glaze on it in the kiln with the potatos.....when it starts to melt/bubble...I turn off the kiln.....SAFETY.....wear a respirator and limit access to the kiln during firing....toxic fumes....wear mask when peeling off the foil as well....experiment...experiment...experiment.
