Nautilus Vase

3.5 x 11 inches. White clay - red iron oxide wash - gloss black glaze inside, rim, foot, and nautilus accent. Sea Mist glaze sprayed light over all.

    Great pot Carl,  is it water etched or carved?

    The nautilus bodies were cut out of a very thin slab of clay.  I applied magic water to the bodies and rolled tentacles, laid them on top and rolled into the surface of a larger precut flat slab that was then wrapped around a pvc cylinder to form the vase.  bottom was then attached and pvc withdrawn. rim and foot altered slightly.  Thanks for the interest and encouragement.
