Yellow Matte

I have been working on a yellow matte glaze. One of our interns left a bucket of glaze and it looks like the glaze on the apple baker. I have been trying to repeat the glaze and the small ikebana form is as close as I have come. I know it's an iron based yellow as the glaze is red in the bucket. The intern was heading out west and I have not been able to find her. Does anyone have any idea what I could add to mine to make it more yellow? I'm thinking some rutile. Thanks for any advice.

Looks like the yellow version of  ^6 White Bird'.

Great on textured darker clay, lovely smooth matte white on white clay, not good on buff colors

 

For yellow:  add 6% rutile.  looks very much like your picture on speckled clay.  Dependable glaze, doesn't run.

It depends on your base glaze Jeff. 1-3% red iron in the right base, with a little tin (about 2%) will give a light to medium yellow. A little bit of rutile added (1-2%), may lean it toward a more warm, even peachy yellow cast.

 

In my Cone 6 Ox high alumina matt, at 8% rutile I get a deep, rich, orange. 6% give more of a deep peach, lighter as the rutile is lowered, so I would think 2% might give you a yellow in the right base.
