Potters & Sculptors - Making Rock from Mud
Hi all - I did not schedule a slow cooling cycle when I fired the kiln, but decided after it had reach temp that I wanted to try it. Is there a way you know of to program this way? I was planning 500f/h to 1900, then 150F/h to 1400, but when I press start it thinks the program is finished. Thoughts?
Stop the kiln. Reprogram quickly adding your new ramps/holds. Start the kiln. Skip ramps and holds already passed. -- How to do that depends on what controller you have, and if it allows you to manually skip segments. Watch out for adding more segments than the controller allows.
You could hurry and do a 3 segment program. The first segment would be a "9999" ramp back to your top temp and then the other 2 segments you have mentioned. Your kiln should ramp back up to the top temp & then do the downward ramps. jhp
Jeff, good idea - that sounds like it might work. Thank you! I will try it.
George - it doesn't let me do anything, because it immediately shuts off, thinking the firing is complete.
Providing your kiln hasn't dropped too far down.... jhp
