- What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
- I started with three semesters at the Univ of NH back in the 70's, had a studio for a couple of years, then took a 15 year hiatus to work, family, etc. Got back involved in the early 90's with a long weekend wrokshop at Haystack. Moved to Pennsylvania and took classes at the Clay Studio in Philly and at Chester Springs Studio. Was able to set up a studio at home, bought an L&L computer controlled kiln and never looked back. I am active with the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, serving on their board of directors, do a few shows here and there and some exhibitions.
- What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
- For the last 7-8 years I have been primarily working with saggar and pit firing with my pieces. I have started to get back into glazed work after a workshop last summer at Penland (Ken Baskin, stiff slabs). I loved the txtured and crater type glazes and am experimenting with them. I am also doing some functional work, and testing "regular" glazes for that work.
- All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?
- I have always felt that the clay community was one of the most open and sharing of all the media. I enjoy talking about clay, galazing, techniques, anything clay. I like being part of a community and contribute and learn as much as I can.

Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.
Amazon is also a competitive source for photo light tents for shooting professional quality pictures of your work. They also have the EZ Cube brand favored by several of our members. You might also want to purchase the book Photographing Arts, Crafts and Collectibles . . .
If you are up to creating videos of your work or techniques you might want to invest in a flip video camera

ebay is a great alternative for many tools and the equipment used in the ceramics studio - kilns, wheels, extruders, slab rollers are often listed there both new and used.
