Do you live in Terrace then? I'm in Smithers!  We're pretty much next door neighbours!
The 'food for thought' piece is actually a low fire earthenware piece.  The clay discs had a slip applied, then a clear glaze, and then I used laser transfer decals afterwards.  These were not fired with the decals on; however they can be fired, and I intend to put some pieces into a firing at some point.  The decals were printed on a basic HP Laser printer and the word is that HP laser toner has a the highest amount of Black Iron Oxide of all laser toners.  After firing, they would come out a sepia brown colour.  I have some other piece I would like to try the technique on.
I am only recently getting back into cone 6 work and right now I am fooling around with single firing and working on some good glazes for cone 6.  I will be posting some pictures onto the site tonight of some pieces that came out of the kiln today.  We should stay in touch.  Susan
