What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
I starting working in clay about 23 years ago. I wanted to pursue a creative activity besides my full time job. I maintained a studio and sold my pots at studio sales over the years. Two years ago I retired from my full-time job of 27 years, never looked back, and stepped into my studio full time.

I work with Miller clay, stoneware, cone 6 electric. I've experimented with down firing and also agree that a Ramp of 50 degrees does give the best results for most of my glazes.

I'm always searching and experimenting to find new glazes and to add interest and movement to the surfaces. I tend to like a satin finish.

Right now I'm toying with the idea to change over to a porcelain clay. This of course will change everything which I welcome. I have to use the remaining brown stoneware and then begin the clean-up of my studio. This is quite a step and makes me pause. I have worked in porcelain in the past so I do know what I'm getting into.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
As mentioned I am currently a functional potter. I do have a group of glazes that are reliable and that I like very much.

I do still test for new glazes. I feel like I'd like to enhance the surfaces of my pots - whether with new glazes or texture so I do experiment.

I thought it would be a good idea to communicate with others and exchange ideas. There are not too many functional potters in my area. I do not belong to a co-op or guild because they are all quite a distance from my location.

I'm hoping this forum will be a place where there can be a change of ideas. Also to exchange results and frustrations of testing.

I saw the result of the White Bird glaze which I like. I'm hoping I can get the recipe.
