- What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
- I bought a slab roller and my Cress kiln about 15 years ago in order to make my own tiles for mosaic work. I built up knowledge through classes and a lot of self teaching...making mistakes and solving problems in less convential ways. After a few years and a bunch of successful installations I taught some classes in tile design and mosaic.
I also was involved with the building trades so many other materials and mediums were incorporated in my design work. Eventually I became more of a designer and less of a maker...until recently. I am happiest making and fill my time between design jobs reconnecting with my love for clay. I've even been experimenting with porcelain clay...I'm very humbled by it, but by working on small minimalist pieces I've improved my technical skills and have fallen in love with it.
- What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
- I am hoping to open an Etsy store soon (and update my website). I've been showing my work at a few local holiday gift shows and so far I'm encouraged to continue my experimentation in porcelain.
- All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?
- I'm falling in love with porcelain clay (albeit humbled). As I continue my exploration I seem to have more questions than answers. Joining a forum like this is just what I need. Also, because I was not formally trained in ceramics I often have unconventional ways to approach my work... perhaps some of my mistakes, techniques or shortcuts would be useful to others too.

Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.
Amazon is also a competitive source for photo light tents for shooting professional quality pictures of your work. They also have the EZ Cube brand favored by several of our members. You might also want to purchase the book Photographing Arts, Crafts and Collectibles . . .
If you are up to creating videos of your work or techniques you might want to invest in a flip video camera

ebay is a great alternative for many tools and the equipment used in the ceramics studio - kilns, wheels, extruders, slab rollers are often listed there both new and used.
