Profile Information

What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
In the mid to late 90’s I had a paint your own pottery studio (“All Fired Up) in MI. I made my own bisque in the early years. The business was closed, but I kept my kilns. Work with clay was tabled until this past late summer/early fall. To find balance from my work as a trauma therapist, I purchased my first box of clay, Laguna BMix.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
Now I have started a business (Marram East, LLC) with the hope of a semi retirement plan in in about five to ten years. I’ve only sold sixteen mugs and made Christmas gifts, but I’m hooked! I have a slab roller (Bailey DRDII 30, long table), a potter’s wheel (Shimpo RK Whisper), and most of the tools I need for a start. I have yet to mix my own glazes, but have some resources and hope to take that step in the not too distant future.
