Profile Information

What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
Was an art teacher in the Dublin City School District for 35 years. I continue to teach community education classes in Dublin.  Working with people who enjoy exploring clay and its multitude of facets gives me energy and inspiration towards my own art. I have spent over 40 years working in clay and loves the medium. It can be challenging but that is what makes the process so exciting and rewarding. There is so much to continue to learn and explore. Working in clay never disappoints; even when things don’t turn out the way expected. Sometimes that is when some of the most incredible creations happen.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
Since the 1980's I had to change my firing from natural gas to electric firings. I explored many ranges and have found I am most happy with cone 6. I do however fire some earthenware forms to cone04.
