Yes, it's really a psuedo oil-spot, but whatever the mechanism is, it does work. There was a "Bone-marrow" glaze over on another blog that was a viscous amber/honey base with a white liner as the cover glaze that worked very nicely. I was able to tint the white liner & come up with some interesting tests. If I can find them still, I'l take a pic with my phone & post it. jhp

Since reduction of red iron oxide is not the mixing mechanism between the two glaze layers at Cone 6, it's interesting to look at each working "oil spot" combination to see exactly what is going on.

This is the same John Britt base, but I will have to see if I can find my notes as to what the cover glaze was. jhp

As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
