Potters & Sculptors - Making Rock from Mud
This is culmination of 3 glazes overlapped that I have been working on. A dolomite matte that is white, a milky clearish white, and a titanium white. Also a tad of fake ash sprayed lightly over it to give it the green hues on the right.
I am really happy with this and I think I could take it further. It has beautiful tones of brown and I loooove the way the rim breaks and the color that shows through. It is really spot on to what I have been trying to achieve. Unfortunately the black clay I have been working with doesn't have the same effect. Sort of a sad moment that I am probably going to give up on the black clay, so far I haven't had any luck in creating the tones I am looking for. This pot basically satisfies all my requirements.
Natural spots from the clay body, beautiful tones of brown, green, grey and white, and interesting surfaces.
Is it time to settle down and explore this? Can I commit. Ahhh
