My ceramics professor MADE me learn how to pull handles directly on the pot, he said over and over that handles that are pulled on the pot look like they belong there, handles that are stuck on, look.... well... stuck on.  It was a long struggle but after a while I really mastered pulling them directly on the pot and he was right.  I'm not saying that this is 100% the solution but more oftenthan not it works for me.  Second, he made me learn to pull spouts by leaving a little extra clay in the rim when I threw it, then when stiff going back and re wetting and squeezing/pinching the clay between my fingers and moving my hand back and forth, almost like throwing that section a little higher, the clay gets thinner and more pliable and the spout can be easily formed.  I don't usually offer suggestion or tips, but I am currently struggling with my surfaces and your are dynamite so I thought I would.  Anyway best of luck with it.  Happy potting.

Actually, I totally agree with you. I hate the handle - it was an experiment that totally failed and I let things get too dry to try something else - and the spout is boring. I definitely need to work on my spouts. I've pretty much been doing this really basic type or big beak spouts, but I think I need to try to find something in between. Your spout looks really good. I'll think how I could get something more like that going. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion...

OK, here is my suggestion, and please don't take this the wrong way:  a sexy form and surface like that one is begging for a handle that compliments and sets off the form, A little bolder statement regarding the spout would put this absolutly over the top!
