Thanks Kathy. I have had some crazing on certain tiles with certain colorants. But nothing that I really cant fix. I agree it seems to be fit thats the only issue. I love his base. It really has lots of possibilities.

I really like Gartside base too and have been trying it with different colorants.  I emailed him and he replied and said some people found it crazed but I've not had that happen and think it may be an issue of fit.  I will put up some photos of my results soon!

This is the Brian Gardside base found in the work of Alisa Clausen. I added 3% copper to this base. I haven't had time to test if for running off the tile. It is a wonderful base that has a lot of possibilities. I plan on testing this in the future. It may very well be a nice cone 6 celadon. If you look up Alisa and her work you will find his bases, this one is a shiny base. Clay thread art is where I started my search for bases. I only take the base and then add my own colors as I choose.
