Hi Norm
I don't know why the JM works and the Goldstone doesn't unless it is the gertsley. I will be interested to see your new tests. I sprayed the bowl with Coppery Sparkle and threw it back in the kiln with a 125c/hr cool down. I'll see tomorrow nite how it comes out. I can't keep putting glaze on it or it will be too heavy. Jeff

New versions of ^10 Goldstone and John's Metallic are in the kiln now, with 10% Ferro Frit 3269 added for more flux and glass at cone 6.

This is John Britt ^10 Goldstone over ^6 Orange Street at ^6 with a slow-cool. Too refractory, even with the ^6 Orange Street under it.

This is ^10 John's Metallic over ^6 Orange Street at ^6 with a slow-cool. Actually not bad, but we'll see what the added 10% 3269 does.

Hi Norm,

I wished it were.  I have yet to have it come out on a pot like it did on the test tile. I have even re-fired it after spraying more glaze on, but it came out the same.  maybe I will have to do a fast cool.  The bowl is an iron red over a crystalline glaze.  They are both commercial glazes, so i am trying to find the same effect with ones that I have a recipe for.  Jeff

Is that what John Britt's "Goldstone" looks like layered over "Orange Street"?
