Hi Nadine,

I wish I knew the recipe.  If I did, I would share it.  It is made by a friend of mine and I know it is just a clear glaze that he makes with a red stain in it. It always comes out very red, that's why I decided to use it over the oil spot.  They must be just enough different that they don't fuse.  That's the key to this psuedo oil-spot, to not have the glazes mix & fuse as one.  Think of it as oil & water.  You want them to keep their own separate identities and not homogenize into one.  jhp

I love it and I would be much happier if I could get this red! My red have all come out a brown, UGLY...

This is John Britts base with a red cover glaze. It is not the cover glaze with red stain added to it.  jhp
