They are in the wash. red iron oxide mixed with water 3 to 1 ration by volume makes the wash too runny so I added gum solution to thicken the mixture which made it more controlled when brushing ( I use it on vertical surfaces also - cups and vases) (will post a close up of the cup surface tomorrow) The mixing action creates small bubbles in the wash which transfer to the piece, but I kind of like them so have not tried to prevent them, Thanks for the encouragement.

The spots in the iron wash, are those due to the trails or is that some kind of spotting from the wash? They are very interesting. This tray is fantastico!

As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
