Hi Patricia - Thanks so much for posting the recipe.  The red iron oxide that I have been using is the spanish red iron oxide from US Pigment.  Can i ask if this is the same RIO that you are using?  If not, which one are you using?  Thanks again.  MJ

Thanks - Love this one too.......The recipe is a classic red-brown. There are loads of them - It comes out redder batch to batch. Needs to be just the right consistency.  Sometimes chemicals sourced from a particular place seem to change this recipe a lot. No special program - Medium speed glaze on a select fire controller......

Depends on the clay body as well....

Flint 29.7
Kaolin EPK 4.95
F-4 Feldspar 19.8
Talc 13.86
Gertley Borate 31.86
100.17
Add
RI Oxide 16%
Bentonite 170

Hello - the red looks wonderful.  Looks like an iron red.  Is this your recipe or is it a public recipe?  Are you using a particular firing schedule to bring out the red?  If it is an iron red, which red iron oxide are you using.  Yours is coming out a lot redder than my iron reds.  Thanks, MJ
