This base is very nice with mason stains-- I posted a couple of picture using yellow, purple, and orange. I'm planning a batch with cobalt carbonate soon.

Interpreting the Base 72 Rutile recipe.
The base is the first set of ingredients adding up to 100. Mix those ingredients to make a very small test batch or multiply them each by a factor of 5, 10, 20 or whatever to get a batch of the size you want. (500g, 1000, 2000, etc.) Whatever the total, You then add 8% of that total of rutile to the batch.
The unity oxides are just the chemical breakdown of the ingredients you have in that recipe and are useful for studying the characteristics of the glaze.
