That is funny! I may have a similar one concerning the use of miracle grow, but I have been sworn to silence. I do a lot of ferric chloride et al and there are so many things that I put in that, in truth there is really very little that truly understand. Kiln magic or another type of fertilizer? ... You decide.
I wish I knew. It's kind of a funny story. I was teaching pottery classes at a local summer camp. We decided to try barrel firing, and I was talking with the director about using "Miracle Grow"- He said he didn't have any, but he did have jars of pellet fertilizer left over from a pot growing bust on the property! None of the jars were marked, so I have no idea what the fertilizer actually was. I guess if you can grow pot with it, you can fire pots with it, too!..
Very Nice! I use Ferric Chloride and the results are pretty good but I'd rather not deal with that stuff.
What kind (brand ) of fertilizer do you use?
No ferric chloride. Just ALOT of commercial pellet fertilizer and some salt on burnished terra sig.
Fired in a small barrel with wood mulch.
was this done with Ferric Chloride?
Thanks. It's Standard 240, white sig made from om4, epk, and trisodium phosphate- recipe is in clayart archives.
