This vase started with a three hour session pose from the model for the head pose......the rest pretty muchout of my head... the necks of the vase are the two hands...I also built removable incense burners into the hands...the build was almost finished here I left the small hands till last so I wouldn' break the fingers while building the rest...Now it is awaiting its first fire...a slow 3 day down and up oxidation but I am contemplating one more step a spray application of Steve Hills Ice Crystal Magic Glaze...which he uses as a once fire on his lovely pots with some sprayed on oxides.... Never used that glaze before ...apparently it runs quite a bit so I'd probably have to wax the parts I want to protect from it...

thank you denice...it blesses me to know that someone has thought deeply about the continuing narrative of my work...unfortunately I only figure out the story little by little as I build...trying to listen to the Muses direction...and so this one since it hasn't yet had its first fire ...who knows where the glazing will take the story...but yes I try to work with love of life throughout...

I finally got my brain wrapped around one of your vases I guess it's because I'm also a mother. I could see this displayed at a Women's health center, if's full of life. Denice

the other side of this large vase...working title Rocky Road/Hunger/LeadingwiththeHeart Vase and Incense Burner...I'm Roman Catholic and incense is used in church as a metaphor for prayers ascending to heaven...so the hands and faces in the clouds became in the narrative of this piece the heavenly community of prayer...

Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.
