What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged): I began throwing clay at a community guild when I was in graduate school. I continued to learn the craft and throw pots through the remainder of a lengthy professional education, though two pregnancies, and while raising children. While I primarily created wheel-thrown functional ware, I eventually began working with slab-built pieces, which were functional as well. Many of my pieces were thrown and then altered, with additions, such as lids, which were slab-built. For a decade, I sold my work at craft shows and galleries in the northeast.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged): Currently, I'm not creating ceramic pieces, as a health issue is preventing me from working with my hands.
All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?: I've had to be away from clay for several years, but it's a craft that I'm drawn to and miss terribly. A few years from now, I'll be in a position to work in this medium again. In the meantime, I would like to keep current, so that I'll be able to start again, fresh with new ideas that have been percolating during my time away from clay.
