What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
Five years at community college, workshops, outside classes, now in a group studio and handbuilding class. I work with plants/gardens so I work in garden art, planters, vases and nature is an inspiration. I dream about clay.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
Electric fire at 6 (or less) is the only type of kiln I've ever used.
All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?
It's beneficial to focus on anything and this website provides that. Questions, information and experiences are different; ceramics is complex. Browsing just takes time away from clay!
You are one of the first people to encounter our new member approval process. (previously approval was automatic). Several of our more active members and I have been discussing how we can encourage membership for people who want a feeling of community, and discourage membership for lurkers, and those who just want to use us a some kind of reference source. Historically only one out of two members have ever left any mark on the network other than the act of joining.
I have been tweaking the profile questions for the last three days, trying to get people to slow down enough to think about what it might mean to be an active member of a community, instead of a passive subscriber.
If you don't mind I would like to ask you about the process:
Did you find any of the questions annoying or offensive?
Did any of them seem too personal?
Did the overall tone of the questionnaire give you pause to think that cone6pots might be a community where you can actually interact and affect others?
Do you have any added questions that would improve the profile information box for a given member?
Good day, I am RonaId Morris, I saw your profile and I decided to contact you immediately. Can you get back to me on my email (ronmorri01@gmail.com) for full details. Regards.
