Then, on the left side menu, click on Options in the Shop Settings category. In the Shop Settings window, select the Vacation Mode tab. Click “On” to put the shop in Vacation Mode and create appropriate messages in the Announcement and Message fields. Click Save to implement these actions.

If the buyer paid via Etsy Gift Card or credit card (Direct Checkout), issue a full refund Shop Payment Account before you cancel.

If the buyer paid via PayPal, check, money order, or “Other” payment method, refund the buyer through the appropriate method, and be prepared to provide proof of refund in case of a dispute.

In July I set up an Etsy store for Tamarack Stoneware and have now had it stocked and the information fully developed for a few months. What I'm finding is that unless you add new listings every few days, the traffic generated through the Etsy search engine drops to very low levels. I have tried Etsy's paid promotion option and found that it does not produce traffic. I use Priority Mail whenever possible to take advantage of the free boxes, tape, Delivery Confirmation, and the discounts and convenience of printing labels online. However, I often need larger boxes than available from USPS for shipments containing multiple items. Until recently, I had a local supplier for my supplies and I saved on freight by picking them up, but the company has now stopped carrying shipping supplies and I need to order supplies soon.
Anyone have a favorite supplier you use for such supplies? I have access to shredded paper from time to time,so don't always need peanuts, but do need heavy duty larger boxes, heavy duty packing tape, single-face corrugated cardboard, and stretch film plastic.
Can someone tell me where I can find out what time of day I'm getting the most traffic to my shop? Is it somewhere in Google Analytics? Thanks.

If you haven't tried selling your work on Etsy http://www.etsy.com it is something you might want to think about, especially during the "off show" season. If you haven't tried selling your work on Etsy http://www.etsy.com it is something you might want to think about, especially during the "off show" season. The first thing to do is visit their website and read the terms of use and the do's and don'ts of selling. If you are satisfied with the terms and want to sell there, head over to Paypal.com and open an account linking your bank account to paypal. Etsy utilizes Paypal as the method by which customers can make online payment. It takes a few days for Paypal to verify and set up your account as they verify information accuracy.
In the meantime register on Etsy with a username and password (caution: Your user name will ultimately show up in you etsy shop as your shop user name too, so if you're business name is Jim Bob Pottery you might not want to use cutiepie1966 as your user name, if you get my drift). Once registered you have an account and are now able to buy on etsy. (next post will discuss setting up a sellers acct. on etsy). Feel free to ask questions at any point.
