<p>highly translucent porcelain bodies are formulated from New Zealand kaolin of Grolleg kaolin. For optimum clarity, V-gum T is used as the plasticizer. The supplier in your new hometown area should be able to verify these ingredients in their porcelain stock.</p>
<p>The other option is to review the product specifications. The COE of translucent bodies are typically higher than standard porcelain because higher levels of flux are required to produce the higher glass content. Regular porcelain averages between 5.50 to 5.75 COE, while translucent bodies run over 6.00 up to nearly 7.00.</p>
<p>Because high quality plasticizers are used: shrinkage values are higher. Standard porcelains run between 10.5 to 12.5%, while translucent bodies run 13 to 13.75% shrinkage.</p>
<p>Finally, absorption values reflect the high glass content of translucent bodies. Standard porcelain runs between 1-2% absorption! while translucent bodies are nearly zero.</p>
