Photos are presented in several views on the network. In the slide show you can't really do anything except click one to have it display alone. You can do the same with any of the thumbnail views.

The individual picture view has some controls you can use. If you click on the options box above and right of your picture's title there is a list item to "Edit details". This opens a dialog box where you can add a caption or change the title.

I'd love to add all the detail anyone wants, but when I used the quick add photo, and I just did this for several, there didn't seem to be a place to add this info , I have added some in the comments, but maybe I am missing something here!

Maybe someone could enlighten me on best way to add info when photo is already uploaded.

Thanks

I can send a broadcast message to all members at any time, so it is not really more of a chore than posting a discussion entry, though it may have a relatively short word limit (It's been a while since I sent one). We'll give this discussion a while to develop before doing anything drastic to anyone's content.

We removed a few photos the other day, but left one or two, because we're working on some experiments that will refer to them.
We agree with you--there are several reasons folks have for joining EC6, and we should be tolerant of those varied reasons. We should also remember that there are legitimate reasons for prolonged absence, e.g., travel or illness.
Our concern is that some folks may have joined--even posted photos--but they haven't visited since and don't intend to return, even to clean up their photos. Perhaps they merely wanted a presence for business purposes--another place to show their ware. Seems a legitimate practice to us, but it would be nice to see some activity--new pots, etc-- by those members. If they have a true business interest, they ought mind the store.

Given the current number of "members," contacting everyone to ask their intentions might be a chore, but we can't think of another remedy.

Thanks, for the site, George. Please let us know how we might help.
I am willing to go through all the photographs and start deleting the older ones with no documentation. It is my opinion that if the network is about sharing ideas, then every photo should have something about what the artist is trying to create and convey. This is not to say that you have to give away your glaze recipes and secret techniques.
Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but context, intent, and techniques that other ceramicists are interested in are seldom conveyed in a simple image. Oohs and aahhs are totally useless compared to informed feedback from your peers working in the same medium. If you can't take an informed critique of your work, why are you presenting it here?
I would like to get quite a few more opinions on this topic before taking any actionl Please add your thoughts. No deaf ears here, Eleanor. No deaf ears here, Eleanor. We tried to attach a bit of info to the photos we added last night.
Do you think that helps, or can you suggest other typs of info?
