I am looking for the options this coming spring/summer/fall for taking a workshop that will help me really grow my ceramic skills and these are the places that I know about that offer "intense" (one week or 2 weeks) courses: Shakerag; Arrowmont, Gatlinberg TN, ArchiBray, Penland, Touchstone, Bascom.  Just wondering if anyone knows of workshops especially helpful for those of us doing  Cone 6 Electric firing or knows other places to check out.

I would highly recommend any Steven Hill workshop that you can get into.

Brenda - If you don't yet have a membership to Digitalfire I highly recommend it. - http://digitalfire.com/

Just reading the essays in Digitalfire will give you years of experience.

I've taken prior chemistry classes so it explained ceramics to me in a format I quickly understood.

For those without chemistry classes Digitalfire teaches you the chemistry you will need along the way.

Digitalfire contains the results of years of testing by Tony Hansen and other authors.

I'd give an even higher recommendation to start with this Fundamentals of Ceramics Class Syllabus from Alfred University. These are PDF files posted on the link below.

One of our members Daniel Spruyt created his own PowerPoint syllabus.
