Potters & Sculptors - Making Rock from Mud
I have been looking at some glaze recipes that use Alberta Slip. I found the recipes at Albertaslip.com. I also found some at the Plainsman clay website. Some of the recipes are on the Digital Fire under glazes on the main menu page. I have not been able to find any of them on Insight Live. I am wondering why this is. I like using Insight Live to calculate my glaze batches. I am slowly learning about glaze chemistry. Is it possible that the glazes are there and I am entering the name wrong? If anyone has information on this please let me know. Thanks.
Some of the glazes I am planning to try out are:
Alberta Slip Rutile Blue
Alberta slip cone 6 Black
Alberta slip Glossy Brown
Alberta slip Glossy Base.
Chantay - Please feel free to enter any recipes you like into our Insight-Live database.
Although Insight-Live is managed by Digitalfire, this doesn't mean all glaze recipes found on Digitalfire webpages are already in our database. The raw material Alberta Slip is already one of the hundreds of raw materials available to choose from, with the chemistry managed by Digitalfire.
Thanks for information Norm. I was just surprised that the glazes were not already in the database. I will add them as I go along. Just loaded a bisque with about 200 test tiles. I don't like the glazeing part, but I am determined to make some progress.
