I am planning on trying out some new glazes this week.  I came across the Gartside base.  It calls for "Feldspar, G-200."  Isn't the G-200 no longer available?  I have Custer Feldspar on hand.  I haven't been able to get onto the Insight site yet so can't check there.

OK, I just thought to look on US Pigments website and there it is.  So, yes, G-200 is still available.

Hi Chantay,

Some suppliers had quite a stock of G-200 and others were blending it to match the old.  There is even some coming in from Spain.  How close to the original is anyone's guess.  Custer is usually a good replacement, in fact I have read in several places that subbing Custer adds a little milkiness to glazes, & most times that's a good thing(unless you wanted a good clear).  Probably one day, they'll say that the Custer is going to run out!  jhp

Im just making samples right now so I will try it with the custer.  The original glaze base is described as transparent, gloss.  I am looking for something to use with colorants and I don't think milkiness will matter.  Thanks.
