I am experimenting with some interesting construction techniques and have been using Amaco high fire white because it can be used on greenware and also bisque fired pieces.

The colors are not very appealing though and I will have to run test tiles of course but was just wondering if anyone has had any luck in layering or otherwise mixing any of these glazes from the High fire group?

Some are in a collection called Sabara Liquid Glazes and another HF Series is called Celebration Liquid Glazes. I just knew them as "High Fire" since their numbers were HF 11, HF 17,  etc.

Thanks for the tip on checking each glaze. If you order online there is no way to do that unless you ask the seller to do it before purchase. I only have 2 Sahara glazes: the Oatmeal & Textured Tan. I like the oatmeal but will probably add some yellow stain to it & see what happens. It IS a pretty matt glaze & will cover very dark clay. I don't care for the Tan at all. They both say "greenware", so you could be right. The only time I've seen glaze used on greenware was when I was doing some firing for a pottery studio & some people were putting Duncan Concepts on their pieces. You might look into that - also Mayco Stroke & Coat which comes in bright colors & some (it says on the bottle) are very stable at ^5. Go on Mayco's website & find their high fire PDF. They list all their glazes & what happens to them fired at ^5. VERY HELPFUL!
