I have been away for awhile.  We had to get our house ready to sell so that we could build a new one.  Anyway, I am going to have my kiln room in the 3rd car garage and I will have my gas kiln just outside the door.  Right now the kiln is clear in the back of the storage unit, but the contractor wants to know the Btu's so that he can appropriately size the gas line for it. If I could get to the kiln it would be easy to get the specs off the name plate, but I can't get to it.  It is approx 28" wide & 36" tall.  I don't even remember the model number.  It has a 4 burner system that is part of the base and it is a downdraft system.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I called Skutt and they don't have any info and I haven't had any luck googling it, especially without a model number.  Like I said, any help would be most welcome so I know what to tell the contractor.  J

I would guess the range of 250,000 - 300,000 btus to be in actual ballpark and 400,000 would make a reasonable safety allowance. The Olympic 28 d X 27 h - maxes out at 280,000 btu, but it is an updraft.

If the size you noted is the inside or stacking space, then 500,000 might be closer to what you need.
