Denice, and Norm,
Some of the blisters look better. kinda, the kiln over fired from heat work restarting it three times so too hard to tell
if lowering 108 degrees and holding 30 minutes helped, but i'm sure it did. I am replacing heating coils mañana . Replaced a year ago. Blow-torch is a must!

Error 1 on our Cress kiln means replacing some heating elements.
We just stick slips of paper over each heating coil and fire the kiln on fast for 5 minutes until we identify the dead elements. We need 3 broken heating coils to produce an Error 1. It still fires correctly with 2 coils out of action, although somewhat unevenly.
The longevity of our heating elements increased dramatically after we lost a studio member who had a penchant for pressing kiln heating elements back into their channel without the use of a blow-torch.

They are cooling in the kiln as I type. Re-fired with a drop of 108 degrees and held there for 30 minutes.
Used a new cooling and heating ramp on my kiln that had error1 four times. So I can only imagine how this will turn out. My guess, uglier than when they went in.

Have you tried refiring any of the to C04, it's amazing what some glazes will do when you refire them. About 15 years ago CM mag had some recipes for refiring, they were very ugly to start with and came out beautiful when refired. I started refiring other glazes on pieces that I hadn't gotten around to throwing away. Some came out great others bad and some had no change. It's kinda of fun to mess around with. Denice

copper rutile matte, Neph sye 65, dolomite 7, zinc oxide 4, calcium carb.5 china clay 7 silica 10 bentonite 2,
copper carb. 3.5 rutile 5 glazed out side with this, inside is field mouse mastering cone 6.
