Love the recipe! It's gonna have to be a glass of wine instead of a brew though.

Cyndy:

I use this Terra Sig Recipe and process. Brush it on. Many coats then polish with soft cloth before bisquing.

I have never used terra sig. Do you brush it on, then wipe? I usually just grab a polishing stone and start rubbing before bisque firing.

Cyndy, yes I've found the same thing. So I line the bottom of the container with cut sheets of newspaper then cut and put multiple sheets around the circumference of the pot. Last, I put several damp sheets on the inside top cover which prevents old ash from falling into pot. Then after putting pot into reduction container and putting lid on, I cover the container with an old damp towel to minimize smoke escaping and freaking out the neighbors.

Also, all my raku these days I terra sig before bisque firing to create a shiny surface. Then apply my tape decorations, brush glaze, then remove tape then fire. I like the shiny black surface that terra sig'ing the pots creates.

Great! I've tried straw and another time shavings. Both will leave marks in the glaze. Some people call it character. I prefer not to have marks. Will try newspaper next time.

Cyndy, just using newspaper!

What are you using as your combustibles during your reduction?
