Has anyone come close to the look of Alisa Clausen's ^6 "Cassie's Marsala" where she uses MOK-623 frit?

56.6 Red Art Clay
20.0 Frit 169/MOK 623
9.4  Nepheline Syenite
9.4  Talc
5.7  Bone Ash
6.6  Iron Oxide-Red

Using the analysis for the Johnson Matthey Frit 623 I made a chemically similar glaze, but it's missing the glassy look produced by a pre-melted frit.

Three glazes I've made with Alisa's recipe, replacing the MOK-623 frit with substitutions to match the chemical makeup. Of course I have tiles from other versions which are too ugly to merit posting.

#1.)  Cassie's Marsala using substitutions for MOK-632 and Red Iron Oxide Precipitate from Standard Ceramics

#2.)  Cassie's Marsala using Ferro Frit 3249 instead of MOK-632 frit and Red Iron Oxide from Laguna Clay / Axner.

#3.)  Cassie's Marsala using Laguna Clay / Axner Red Iron Oxide and 25% additional 3134 Ferro Frit to create a similar glassy look.

This is the mix I've used as a replacement for MOK-623.

MOK-623 Replacement

75.0%    Ferro Frit 3134
30.0%    Borax
10.0%    Soda Ash
  5.8%    Zinc Oxide
  5.3%    Strontium Carbonate
(12.8%)  Calcium Oxide

This particular mix provides 12.8% too much Calcium Oxide, resulting in 2.5% too much Calcium Oxide in the final glaze, which could make the glaze a little too much like a Calcium Semi-matte.
