Profile Information

What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
I started in ceramics in high school and early college days. Fell in love with it. I primarily throw on the wheel, but would like to develop the patience and skill to incorporate carving, alterations, and hand-building with wheel-thrown pieces. I picked up pottery again in my 40's and finally have my own home pottery studio. I'm currently at the phase of learning and experimenting with cone 6 oxidation glaze recipes. A whole new world.
What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
I started this year (2014) studying and testing glaze recipes. I have two kilns: Skutt 1027 KM, and a Glazetech for testing small tile batches. I am like a kid in a candy store and want all the wonderful colors so I have many colors right now. Ultimately, I'm seeking out the discovery of the top 5 glazes, but haven't found them yet.
All our content is viewable by the public. Why do you want to be a member, when you can already see everything as a non-member?
I want to be able to post and comment, and feel like I'm part of a community of potters. I am primarily self-taught at this phase and the more engagement I can have with others, the better.
Where do you work on your ceramics projects?
