- What is your experience with ceramics in general. (Long answer encouraged)
- Thank you for considering me.
I have been playing in clay for over 10 years. Christine Lush-Rodriguez was my teacher for several years. We are still good friends. Thru Chris's encouragement I bought a Clay-Boss Wheel then a small Olympic Kiln. Several years ago, I bought a larger Olympic 2327HE Electric kiln and a new "kiln Kottage" to house both kilns. I have been primarily a hand builder for the past several years. I was having back problems which was taken care of 2 years ago with surgery... but I love hand building. To me, I feel more freedom and control and expression in hand building than I would in throwing. That is only my opinion. This is a life long pursuit. I am continually learning new methods to try and new glazes to also apply.
- What is your current involvement with electric fired ceramics? (long answer encouraged)
- I have 2 electric digital kilns. My first one is my baby kiln. It is an Olympic "Traveler" which can be used on household current.
My other kiln is also an Olympic electric digital kiln it is a Medallion series Olympic 2327HE.
I have only been exposed to electric kiln firings. I have done one trash can smoke firing and loved doing it. But my main method of firing my pieces is thru my own Olympic 2327HE.

Harbor Freight is a great place to find unbeatable prices for better HVLP spray guns with stainless steel parts and serviceable economy models, as well as detail guns, all tested by our members for spraying glazes, as well as compressors to power the guns. As yet no one has tested and commented on the remarkably inexpensive air brushes at harbor freight.
The critter siphon gun is a spray alternative that is well liked by some of our members, and is available at amazon.
Amazon is also a competitive source for photo light tents for shooting professional quality pictures of your work. They also have the EZ Cube brand favored by several of our members. You might also want to purchase the book Photographing Arts, Crafts and Collectibles . . .
If you are up to creating videos of your work or techniques you might want to invest in a flip video camera

ebay is a great alternative for many tools and the equipment used in the ceramics studio - kilns, wheels, extruders, slab rollers are often listed there both new and used.
