I just bought a new Skutt Thomas Stuart  Revolution SSX wheel.

Just thought I would post a review of this wheel for anyone that may be interested.

This wheel is what I would call a power wheel.  Has a solid thick heavy aluminum wheel head that is 14 inches.  This wheel is heavy duty all the way.  You can not slow it down.  Has very responsive pedal and speed.  The top is also heavy and thick.  The pan is deep and easily removable with the wheel head that will twist and snap up.  The pan is made of a very thick plastic that covers the whole top platform.

I used a Thomas Stuart Wheel in classes at the Greater Lansing Potters Guild several years ago in a room full of Brents, Shimpos, and Pacificas. The Thomas Stuart was the smoothest, strongest, most precise, and quietest one of the bunch. If I could afford a new wheel it would have to be one of these.
Sell those good looking pots you are making and quit hoarding them.

Hi Randy,

I'm interested in buying the same wheel.  How does it handle at very low rpm... any vibrating/cogging?  Is the pan easy to remove/reattach.  Where did you get it? Any extra info would be helpful.  Thank you.
